Introduction
A conscious choice has been made to focus on three main areas – Humanity, Environment, and Civil Society – , which collectively comprise all the various fields of application where we believe to be able to contribute usefully, sustainably and with measurable impact.
Each of the three focus areas is divided in JSF Initiatives and JSF Supported Projects. This distinction is made because the full responsibility for management, human resources, marketing, communication, financing, legal, operations, IT, technology, and performance of proprietary initiatives is handled entirely from A to Z by the Foundation, whereas the Foundation has no responsibility for JSF Supported Projects other than its commitment for supporting them.
The type and level of support that the Foundation can contribute to JSF Supported Projects, once a formal engagement has been entered into with them, ranges from basic promotion, advocacy, lobbying, network assistance and introductions, to strategic management advice.
